Hi, I'm Katie Oeschger.

As a naturally curious mixed methods researcher, I enjoy digging deep to figure out the underlying causes and solutions to tough problems and challenges. With more than 15 years of research experience, I have a depth and breadth of expertise from agile studies to complex research initiatives.

Unique Behavioral Science Lens

I developed my strong, rigorous research skills and deep understanding of human behavior by working in esteemed faculty-led psychology labs and earning both a Master’s degree and certification in behavior analysis. With my behavioral science lens, I naturally consider context, motivation, and why a behavior occurs. I’ve been very successful in applying these principles to the research and design of digital products and/or services in B2C, university, non-profit, and agency settings. These data, paired with attitudinal insights, provide deeper insight into the problem and greater confidence in the solution. It’s like the icing on the cake.

Effective Research Leader

Over the years, I’ve naturally assumed research leadership roles both in the workplace and UX community. In these roles, I’ve managed and mentored research teams, developed and implemented strategy, and overseen research operations.

Persuasive Data Storyteller & User Advocate

At the end of the day, data and insights don’t mean much unless they are shared effectively. I get really fired up telling persuasive, compelling stories from user data. I put careful thought and consideration into a research project’s output(s), strategically adapting the message and mode of delivery so it resonates with the respective audience – and leads to action.

Beyond the Researcher

When I’m not immersed in research projects, I can be found reading a good mystery, putting together a jigsaw puzzle, or behind a camera.
